Hellacious Herbal Potpourri



Hellacious Herbal (herb and wood)

A warming, comforting classic floral and wood blend

Herb Base:

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups sage

2 cups bay leaves

2 cups lavender flowers

1 cup lemon thyme

1 cup rosemary

3/4 cup patchouli

1/2 cup coriander seed

1/4 cup hyssop

1/4 cup licorice mint (anise hyssop)

1/4 cup tansy

1/4 cup thyme


Fixatives:
  
1 cup angelica root

1/4 cup calamus root


Oils:

1 teaspoon lavender essential oil
1/2 teaspoon rosemary essential oil
1/4 teaspoon bay essential oil
1/4 teaspoon marjoram essential oil

Color and texture:

1 1/2 cups calcatrippae

1 1/2 cups blue malva

1 cup yarrow flowers


Instructions:

1. Combine the fixatives and oils and allow to set for 1 week until the fixatives have absorbed all the oil.

2. Add herbs and texture flowers.

3. Allow all to set for two weeks, shaking and stirring daily to blend. 

Potpourri:
( Mix after Herb Base, fixatives, oils and color and texture flowers have cured for two weeks.)

2 cups Herb Base (above)
3 cups cedar chips

1 cup lavender flowers

1 cup oakmoss

1/2 cup wormwood

1/2 cup southernwood

20 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops patchouli essential oil
20 drops rosemary essential oil
10 drops cedarwood essential oil
10 drops clove essential oil
10 drops vetiver essential oil

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients with the herb base mixture.

2. Allow to set for 6 weeks, stirring and shaking every other day to blend thoroughly.
